Hi! This group was started because although there are a lot of great groups, there wasn't one for "mature moms". Moms in their 30s, and older with newborns and infants. I am 33 and have one young child. When the original organizer stepped down, I stepped up because I wanted to make sure that the group for mommies like me would still be around. Hopefully there will be an interest :) I too, like the group's founder, am not from this area, so would love to meet new moms and explore the Alexandria …

Bump-It is the perfect group for moms to be and new moms! Let’s face it: humans are social creatures! We were never meant to sit around alone, twiddling our thumbs, waiting for something to happen. We were meant to be out enjoying the world, taking in the sights, breathing the fresh air and enjoying the company of others! So why is it that when we get pregnant life suddenly seems to come to a screeching halt? I’m Sarah and I’m proud to be on the track towards first time mommy hood although I’ll …

They say it takes a village to raise a child and I realized how true that was three months after I had my son. I started looking around and realized my village was scant and my villagers few. For the last few months I have been contemplating starting this meetup and have finally decided to do it. If you live in Lanham, Greenbelt and even Bowie area and want to meet other like minded parents then this is the place for you! I would like this group to foster a community where we can provide a safe …

We are a group branching off from the Natural Mamas in Silver Spring Working Together Communally group, to create a similar community here in Alexandria. Right now, we are in the formation stage and will be planning a meetup for discussion and intention-setting. As a starting point, here is a relevant excerpt from the Silver Spring group's description: "This is for moms and dads who feel they and their child are missing out on something by being alone most of the time, and want more than just th …

As a mother, it is normal for you to want a good relationship with your tweenage/teenage daughter. While you may want her to come to you with her problems and go shopping with her on the weekend, she may not feel the same way. Instead of spending time with you, she might prefer being with her friends. Let's support each other in strengthening our relationships with our daughter(s) by attending 1 or 2 monthly outings. This will give us a chance to meet new people, create friendships, and while at …

Welcome! This is a group for Moms (and Dads!) who are interested in getting together, during the weekdays (mostly), for socialization between ourselves as well as our toddlers / pre-schoolers (Preggers Moms and Infants welcomed, too!!). We will do basic low-key, low-cost/free 'hang out' meet-ups (in homes, at playgrounds, etc), as well as special events and hopefully some Mom's Nights Out, too. I'm new to the area, so open to suggestions and looking forward to meeting new people! Let's play!

I'm a young, first time mom and I've recently decided to stay at home with my 7month old son. I'm the first in my circle of friends to have kids so I'm hoping to connect with other moms who like to get out and have fun (with or without the kids) and be active. There are lots of existing groups out there but I want this group to cater to the mama who would never call herself cool-- but definitely is, the mama who has every intention of putting on make-up and that cute pair of heels even if just t …
